We also offer a Chapel Service with Holy Communion most Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Call the church office to be sure it is available on a specific Wednesday.
Children's message during 10:30 service
Junior Church convenes all but one Sunday a month after the children's message (10:30 service). Junior Church is for children from age 5 through third grade. The children meet in the 1st & 2nd grade classroom and are led in a Bible based lesson by one of our qualified volunteers. Currently the children are learning about Jesus' childhood.
First Church is diligent in its efforts to provide educational opportunities for all ages. Child care for infants and toddlers begins at 7:45 am for the early worship service and continues through the 10:30 Worship service. Pauline, a Hammond resident, Hammond City Schools employee and mother of two children is in the crib room and is paid to provide this service. Child care is provided so that parents can attend Sunday School and can worship unhindered from the responsibilities of parenthood.
Sunday School meets from 9:00 am to 10:15 am. There are classes for children ages 2 through 6.
