Second Mile for November is Habitat for Humanity. If you want to know the joy of serving, then ask Pam L., Don C., Georgia/Bob B. or Champ M. about helping with the Habitat Project. You, too, can get involved and help your community, nation, or world. Here's how you can help locally:
If you are willing to get involved in any of these ways, give us a call and we will be glad to have you as part of our team. Thanks!
Donations of Materials: Please call us at (219) 923-7265 if you have any TOOLS that you would like to donate to Habitat for Humanity. We thank you in advance for your assistance.

Karen and Ut To serve in Vietnam. Ut primarily trains lay pastors and ministers in preparation for starting new congregations. He also guides local pastors through correspondence courses as part of the distance-learning program of the United Methodist Division of Ordained Ministry. Christianity is the fastest growing religion in Vietnam. Karen focuses on recruiting women into the ministry and establishing a women’s support group.
Jim and Julie Doepken serve in Girdwood, Alaska. They serve a church presently that is 31x31 feet with an outhouse for a restroom. They are the only church in the community of 2,000 and are in the process of creating plans to have a new church built. Jim Doepken recently came to our church to describe their ministry. They have mission projects, do community outreach and serve as leaders in the community. When there is a crisis, Jim is called because he is the only full time pastor. They believe that even though they are a mission church, they should also do mission work.
Beth Ferrell serves in Sierra Leone, Africa.
We serve because we are Christians and love our Lord!
What does "Worship has ended; let the service begin!" mean to you? Do you want to do more than just donate money?
Consider this: 2 Corinthians 9:11-14 (The Living Bible)
"Yes, God will give you much so that you can give away much, and when we take your gifts to those who need them they will break out into thanksgiving and praise to God for your help.”
So, two good things happen as a result of your gifts---those in need are helped and they overflow with thanks to God. Those you help will be glad not only because of your generous gifts to themselves and to others, but they will praise God for this proof that Jesus does love them. And they will pray for you with deep fervor and feeling because of the wonderful grace of God shown through you.
How do you want to get involved?
The opportunities are many. However, if none of these work for you, but you have ideas for how you can best use your gifts, call. If you want to have some joyful fellowship and spend some time with some good hearted people, then be sure to let us know! Phone the church office (219) 932-5915. Leave your name and telephone number for Pauline L. Help is always needed and greatly appreciated.
After all, that is our mission for you and I to be the heart, mind, hands and feet of Christ and to share the Good News!
Homeless Meal Preparation is the fourth Sunday of each month by a group from the community or the church. Guidelines and helpful suggestions are available in notebook form. If you would like to participate or obtain more information, please contact Kathy S. or Pauline L.

Many children come to school unprepared for positive social interaction with their classmates because they don't have toothbrushes to brush their teeth, shampoo to wash their hair, or are in need of deodorant. Please help by donating toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, combs, shampoos, etc. There is a collection box in the west hallway across from the office just waiting for your participation! Thank you in advance for your generosity.
